We have two 8-core CPUs: One at 105W, the other at 95W – But those numbers are completely arbitrary. Let’s test them and see for ourselves which will heat up faster!

You could have just measured CPU power consumtion as almost all of the CPU consumed power is converted to heat. Only a tiny fraction is spent elsewhere - like from driving interface lanes and such.

Method is quite flawed. Use watercooling with chiller or other method to keep stressed temperature the same. Then measure difference in input and output tempetature while measuring water flow.

you should have done a normal watercooled loop with a mass flow measurement and Delta T measurement over the radiator. then you can keep the system running at max output and calculate the heat created by the system.

Lots of contortions to avoid using a power meter....

However if you want to _accurately_ work out power draw then use the DELTA of the water temperature.

                        4.186joules per gram (cc) per degree C (4186 joules/litre/degree C)

Once you know how much water you have and the time it takes to change temperature by X degrees (ie, add Y joules of heat), you can turn that into watts (joules/second) of heat output by the CPU.

(oh, and boil the water before chilling it to drive out any disssolved air, that _does_ make a difference to your specific eat)

AMD outputs less heat than intel. heh... but Intel's Vcore voltage is 1,5V and AMD's Vcore voltage is 1,35V ... it is reason why AMD outputs less heat... [ W = 1 * V^2/R ]

Assume that all power draw is converted into heat. Use the wall watt-hour to compare systems.

Yes but in long term, a cpu like AMDs which is boosted all the time will have a shorter time of life. And intel cpu because it is programmed to run in safe tdp and not having the chip boosted , will end up having longer time of life. Υes or No? A simple answer will be appreciated.

That should mean that AMD is more powerful then intel (or at least more efficient then intel. what are they doing with the extra 10w?) because it is consuming more power while being cooler meaning it is wasting of that energy by turning it into heat. How can the AMD chip be slower then the intel?

I'm going out on a limb here without looking it up because I have blind faith in myself lol. Easeus became that name after buying out Partition Magic? Easeus when first launched was freeware unlike Partition Magic software till they became popular after said takeover then started charging a premium. Just saying, maybe I'm just getting old and no one even remembers Partition Magic except me lol carry on.
